 A trip to Mussoorie is always incomplete without a visit to Kempty falls. This was developed by British officers and has been a tourist attraction since then. The waterfall is about 1,300 meters high with a pool of water to take a bathe in the serene water. It is very famous for picnics and taking some pictures to add to the memories.

Lal Tibba:

This is one of the highest viewpoints in Mussoorie, which is around 6-7 kms from the city centre and has an altitude of 2,275 metres. The view from the point is mesmerizing and on a clear day you can also get a glimpse to peaks like Bandar punch, Kedarnath and Badrinath. You can also enjoy closer view from the telescope installed at this view point.

This is the second highest peak in Mussoorie and is one of the most common attraction among the visitors to this little heaven. Along with a 360-degree view of the town, you can also soak the beauty of the doon valley from the top and a lot of other Himalayan peaks from the distance. This place can be reached by a 20 mins trek from the Mall road.

Jharipani Falls:

If you want to spend some time close to the nature, in peace, this is the location for you. The location is around 7-8kms form the town and can easily be reached with a local taxi or a private car, after a breath-taking journey of about an hour into the nature’s lap.

Into the woods, hearing the music of birds and leaves, this could be another escape for you in the nature’s lap. You can reach this place by hiring a local taxi or a private car after a journey of about an hour into the woods.

One should not miss the opportunity to do the paragliding, if you are planning a trip to Mussoorie. Bhatta falls around Mussoorie lake are famous spots for paragliding here. The activity will also not dig a hole in our pocket as it takes around 1,500 bucks for a short fly of 5-10 mins, 5,500 bucks for 20-25 mins and 10,000 for a high fly of around an hour/person. The activity is safe and is done with local instructors but still not advisable if you have some medical conditions.

Trekking:

There are a plenty of trekking tours available in and around the places in Mussoorie. Pari Tibba trek Trek to Benog hill, Bhadraj hill trek are some of the day treks which you can join with a group if you are visiting the town and have a lust for adventures. These treks will usually cost you around 1,700-2,000 Rs/person. The best time to go on a trek is in summer.

A trip to Mussoorie will be incomplete without this activity. This amazing activity will take you to a walk on a rope at around a height of 120 ft from the ground and 360 ft long. Dhanaulti is most common spot to visit if you want to enjoy this adventure. You will literally touch the clouds on this walk while adrenaline will be all time high. There are plenty of clubs in this are who offer the activity of sky walk in Mussoorie, most commonly in Dhanaulti. The activity is not risky as such because of proper security but is not advisable if you are afraid of heights.

Religious places in Mussoorie:
Jwalaji Temple:

Also known as ‘Jwala Devi temple’, this is a must visit place for religious devotees. The temple is located at ‘Binog Hill’, surrounded by tall Oak and Deodar trees. The beauty of the temple is mesmerizing with a view of river Yamuna and Shivalik hills.

Surkanda Devi temple:

This temple is located near Dhanaulti and is around 40 kms from city of Mussoorie. According to the Hindu mythology, this temple can be accredited to Mata Sati, wife of Lord Shiva. You can reach to this holy place by hiring a taxi or a private car easily.

Shedup Choepelling Temple:

Shedup Choepelling Temple is a Tibetan Buddhist temple. Serenity of this place will fill you with calm. The place is easily accessible as it is 6-7 kms from Company Garden. A visit to this temple is must if you want to escape the hustle bustle of tourists.

Christ Church Mussoorie:

This Church will fill you with serenity and leave you awestruck at the same time. This church is a beautiful structure built in British times and is a greatest attraction for architecture lovers. The place is just 0.6kms from Mussoorie bus stand.

Shopping fun and food in Mussoorie:

Of course, shopping is not the first thing that you would think to do when you go to the Queen of Hills – Mussoorie but there are some of the notable things you can buy and places you should visit once.

The Mall Road:

This is one of the most happening shopping places in Mussoorie. You can stroll around the road to enjoy an evening while you can also buy some souvenirs, mementos, apparels and home-decors.

Tibetan Market:

This market is again a well-known attraction in Mussoorie. You can buy a variety of hand-woven carpets, fashionable jewellery and trendy woollen apparels. Do not forget to bargain.

Kulri Bazar:

This market is well known for silver jewellery shopping. You would also find some good restaurants and cafes.
