Staying hydrated is much more important for health, so it’s recommended that you drink eight glasses or more (depending on your body weight) water per day. Studies have shown that drinking water naturally boosts your metabolism. When you add extra ingredients in water, which helps your body to detox, is called Detox water. It also helps your body to get rid of toxins, improve your energy level, help you lose weight and get flawless skin. So, to day we will talk about how to make detox water in details.

Good thing about detox water is that it can add to your flavors, when water by itself can get boring real quick. With all the flavors in Detox water, that I’m usually looking for, it helps preventing me from slipping up and eating something that I shouldn’t touch. Making detox water at home is plain sailing. All you need is water and a selection of fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Cucumber, Mint & Lemon Detox Water

This is really flavorful and refreshing water, which not only hydrates you, but improves your digestion and also helps you reduce your weight. I like this water first thing in the morning to kick start my day.

Recipe – ½ cucumber, 2 lemon, 10 to 12 mint leaves, 3-liter water

Add all the ingredients in to a jug and allow to steep overnight in the fridge to release all the flavor. If you do not like to have cold water in the morning, you can keep the jug outside to enjoy your rich and flavorful drink in the morning.

Watermelon Detox Water (pre and post workout)

We all love watermelon and this is great for a pre and post workout detox water. One of the excellent nutrients, that it contains, is lycopene. It’s a strong antioxidant that helps to decrease inflammation and gain flawless skin. This juicy melon also adds amino acids to our body, that revitalizes our blood circulation. There are many ways to use watermelon for our health and of course, for skin too; but I like to get the nutrients of watermelon by adding it in my detox water. Watermelon detox water not only helps me to cleanse the body from inside, but also helps me to achieve flawless skin.

Recipe – 1 slice of watermelon, 1 liter of water

Apple Cinnamon Detox Water

Apple Cinnamon infuse water is highly recommended to lose weight and detox your body. It will boost your metabolism and will curb down your appetite and will help you avoid the extra calories.

Apple Cinnamon detox water taste heaven. If you have a sweet tooth, you can add more slices of Apple. 

Recipe – 1 Apple thinly sliced without seed, 1cinnamon stick

Put all the ingredients in to a jug with water and allow them to infuse for 2 to 3 hrs. Then strain the mixture to get your desired detox water. Re-fill the jug 3 to 4 times with water before you replace the apple and cinnamon. You can use the same ingredients once refrigerated for 3days.

Ginger Mint Detox Water

Ginger and mint are two very commonly known and used for a long-time detoxing agent. Apart from detoxing effects, ginger and mint have a lot of other health benefits ranging from soothing our stomach to cold relief.

This detox water is going to taste great, with flavors of ginger, mint and other ingredients which can be added to this.

Recipe – 2 pieces of ginger roots, 10 to 12 fresh picked mint leaves, 2 slices of fresh lemon, Himalayan salt or honey according to taste.

Put all the ingredients mentioned above in a jug of water, allowing them to infuse for around 4 – 5 hours. You can consume the water taken from the jug of infused water either empty stomach or after meal.

Refill the water once consumed for about 3-4 times before replacing the ingredients of detox water.

Basil Detox water

Basil leaves have great anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a great choice to have your body detoxed. Basil Detox water is beneficial if consumed after the meal as it may decrease the feeling of fullness and sooth your stomach as well.

Recipe – 10-12 basil leaves folded 2-3 times to enable more flavor secretion and a pitcher of water.

Add all folded basil leaves to the pitcher of water and leave it to infuse for about an hour. Consume and replace the water 2-3 to use before replacing the detoxing ingredients.
